An initiative of UTAD and FCM, it is realised in partnership with international experts in innovation.
The Mini-School of Innovation, directed by Alfons Cornella and Ragnar Siil, adopts the model of the pyramid of value to take a look at innovation in the Douro Region and question the traditional perceptions that constrain the standard narrative that we have developed about it over time. Participants, entrepreneurs and all people interested in building the future of the Region can be described as restless minds, individuals who question the current way of « selling » the Douro’s assets. Participants are expected to be active agents of the School, acting as observers, looking for examples of cities and/or territories around the world that have made an analysis/evaluation of their assets, according to the perspective of the different agents involved. The result of the Mini-School is a set of « pyramids of value » of the Douro Region, produced by the participants: four main pyramids of the Region’s values according to the perspective of each of the four main stakeholders: its citizens, tourists, local businesses and potential external investors. These different pyramids are then merged, originating a « total » pyramid of the Region’s values.
